Connecting Socially
Make time to see people to keep your mind and body healthy
Make yourself feel better by connecting with others
Spending time with people you care about – friends, family and colleagues – and making an effort to build new relationships is proven to be good for you. You don’t need a huge network of people around you but it’s important to keep making connections and keep talking. Receiving and giving emotional support, sharing experiences, talking things though; it all positively affects your mental and physical health.
Take action
Be proactive. Don’t wait for others to contact you or only rely on tech for contact. Make plans to meet face to face when you can, and talk properly. You’ll be able to meet life’s challenges better when you can talk about them and be supported by others. And then offering that support back can also lift your mood and increase your self-esteem. Feel better, perform better.
