Body Posture Feedback

Use your body posture to shift your mindset

Change your body’s position to change your mood

It’s a well known fact that your mind and body is closely linked. But did you realise that you can literally change the way you feel by changing your posture? Every time you stand, lie down, sit, walk, even when you smile, your brain recognises the muscles you’re using. You remember how you felt when you used them before. This changes your brain’s chemistry and the kind of hormones it releases into your body.

Try these simple changes

  • To feel more powerful and confident: stand or sit tall. Head up, push your shoulders back or open your legs and arms so you take up more space.
  • To feel happier: just the act of smiling will trigger a change in your brain chemistry and make you feel happier.
  • To feel more relaxed: sit up straight so that you can open your lungs up and breathe more easily and deeply.
